The Wyoming Area Science Olympiad Team took the fourth place overall trophy at the Northeast Regional Science Olympiad Competition on March 9 at Penn State Wilkes-Barre Campus. Students competed in 23 individual events and received eight individual event medals. Medal winners were: Mission Possible, Ellie Glatz and Jacob Butwin, first place; Chemistry Lab, Gwen Glatz and Kristi Skok, second place; Forensics, Bayli Grossi and Gwen Glatz, second place; Helicopters, Cara Yorina and Marissa Kovaleski, second place; Remote Sensing, Jeremy Harman and Nick Perry, second place; Anatomy and Physiology, Marissa Kovaleski and Joe Gacek, fourth place; Material Science, Ben Klaproth and Bayli Grossi, fourth place; Microbe Mission, Gwen Glatz and Kristi Skok, fourth place. Based on their outstanding overall team score, the team will advance to the state competition April 28 at Juniata College.
