Wyoming Area Catholic seventh graders Benecio Carpentier and Stephen Renfer were awarded third place in the Exhibit Category at the National History Day regional competition held at the University of Scranton. The theme for History Day was Triumph and Tragedy. The students researched and compiled information about the sinking of the cruise ship the Costa Concordia. They displayed their findings and recounted the tragedy in a presentation to the judges. Carpentier and Renfer will move onto the state competition, May 10-11, at Carlisle High School.
