St. John the Evangelist Parish, Pittston, recently offered a class on “Cooking for Crowds.” Participants learned about the importance of food safety and were shown practical ways to purchase, prepare and serve foods safely. Nicole McGeehan, associate educator, Food Safety, Quality and Health from Penn State Extension, presented the class. St. John the Evangelist Bazaar will be held Thursday, Aug. 9, through Saturday, Aug. 11.
