Pittston Area, Class of 1974, will meet

Pittston Area High School, Class of 1974, will hold its 45th class reunion at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Arcaro and Genell’s, Old Forge. Cost is $50 per person and includes antipasto, buffet featuring chicken scampi, eggplant parmigiana, pasta with red or vodka sauce, red roasted potatoes, veggies, coffee, tea, soda and dessert. There will be a cash bar. Dress is “Black and Blue” so dress up or wear jeans. Dick White, of Pittston, announces the USS Independence CVA-62’s 30th reunion will be held in Dayton, Ohio from Sept. 25-29. All Navy, Marine or Air Squadron personnel who served on the Independence and their families are welcome.

Pittston plans

theater trip

United Methodist Church of Pittston will sponsor a bus trip to Hunterdon Hills Playhouse on Wednesday, Sept. 11, to see Neil Simon’s hit play “Barefoot in the Park.” This comedy ran on Broadway for five years and was a Tony Award winner. There are seven selections for the table-served entree plus the dinner theater’s dessert buffet. Price of the trip is $100 and includes bus, meal, coffee, hot tea, show, tax, gratuity and driver tip. St. Joseph Senior

Social Club party set

St. Joseph Senior Social Club will hold its annual July picnic from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at the Checker Board Inn, Trucksville. Menu will include clam chowder, hot dogs, hamburgs, cheese steaks, sausage and peppers, french fries, salads, soft drinks and coffee. Club members will provide desserts.

Rose Marie Amico, treasurer, is collecting registration and payment of $12 for members. Guests are welcome at a cost of $24.
