Wyoming/West Wyoming Seniors will have their Christmas party at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at The Avenue Diner. Those attending are asked to be there by 12:30.
At the last meeting, sandwiches and cake were served in honor of Helen Ostrowski’s 100th birthday. The 50/50 winners were Ann Kozloski, Nancy Marcy, Marion Mantione, and Marion Pocceschi. The bingo jackpot was won by Helen Ostrowski.

Falls Active Adult Center, sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne/Wyoming Counties, announces the schedule for December.
The following activities are held weekly:
Mondays: Nutrition talks at lunch. Women’s coffee club meets from 10 a.m. to noon.
Tuesdays: Brain games at lunch.
Mondays and Wednesdays: Craft club meets from 10 a.m. to noon.
Thursdays: Men’s coffee club meets from 10 to 11:45 a.m.
Fridays: Geocaching activity, 9:30 a.m. to noon.
Also, Geri-Fit exercise program will be held from 12:30 to 1:15 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The last class will be Thursday, Dec. 19.
Special events for December include:
Monday, Dec. 2: 10:30, the book club will discuss “Allie and Bea” by Catherine Ryan Hyde. Also, Lunch & Learn with Rachael Wydra, BSN, RN, from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, will give a presentation on managing stress during the holidays.
Tuesday, Dec. 3: 10 a.m. to noon, Nancy Smith will lead a memoir writing class on holiday memories of life in Falls.
Wednesday, Dec. 4: The craft club meets to do holiday decorating and dip chocolate spoons for Christmas.
Thursday, Dec. 5: Lunch & Learn with Lois Elich, BSN, RN, from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, will talk about winter safety.
Monday, Dec. 9:10:45 to 11:45 p.m., there will be a Christmas concert with Gideon Giatano, followed by a special holiday luncheon.
Tuesday, Dec. 10: Center closes at 11 a.m.
Thursday, Dec. 12: 12:15 p.m., Lunch & Learn with Mary Reeves, LSW admissions director at the Gardens at Tunkhannock, discussing healthy snacking.
Tuesday, Dec. 17: 10:45 to 11:45 a.m., Christmas sing-along party featuring Ron Jackson and Gene Smith.
Wednesday, Dec. 18: 10 a.m. to noon, Christmas candy making.
Thursday, Dec. 19: 12:15 p.m., Lunch & Learn with Dyan Dinstel from North Penn Legal will discuss living wills. Help will be available to set up personal living wills for those who are interested.
Friday, Dec. 20: Mobile food pantry from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 25: Center closed for Christmas.
Tuesday, Dec. 31: New Year’s Eve party.
The center also announced the following upcoming book club selections:
Jan. 2: “Mama Makes Up Her Mind” by Bailey White.
Feb. 3: “Twelve Years a Slave” by Solomon Northup.
March 2: “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens.
April 6: “Isaac’s Storm” by Erik Larson.
Anyone wishing to visit the center for a meal at noon for a suggested donation of $2 for those 60 and over, should RSVP to Twila at 570-388-2623 by 12:30 p.m. the day before. The center, located on state Route 92 in Falls, Exeter Twp., is open from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The center is continuing to collect seasonal clothing for the homeless.
