Pittston Area Stand Tall Club will host a blood drive in memory of 2008 graduate Brian Musto and in support to local patients.
The blood drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, April 16, in the high school gym. The blood drive is for students, faculty and staff only. It is not open to the public.
To schedule an appointment, register with the LifeSouce representative who will have a registration table outside the cafeteria during the week of April 9. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins also are welcome. Students must be 18 to donate; 16- and 17-year-olds can donate with signed parental consent. A LifeSource or military ID or driver’s license is required to donate. Those donating are reminded to eat well and stay hydrated.
After graduating from Pittston Area, Musto completed his education at The University of Scranton and Cornell Law School.
He died in January 2018 following a four-year battle with Hodgkin lymphoma.
“Brian would want this drive to benefit others in his situation. Please celebrate Brian’s life by joining his family and friends in their support of your high school blood drive,” his family said in a press release.
