Students at Pittston Area’s Martin F. Quinn Primary Center participate in the Accelerated Reading Program. Students read books and then take comprehension tests in an online database. Students accumulate points based on the number of questions answered correctly. The importance of reading practice in preparing students for college, life and career success is widely recognized. The Accelerated Reading Program offers all levels of appropriate reading practice. The first grade class as a whole has been very busy reading. The class has read 8,360 books containing 2,175,905 words! The children will continue reading until the end of the school year.
