Pittston Area School District is offering free breakfast and lunch through pickup service. Caregivers and families may drive thru and pick up meals for their children. Meals will be given only to children through 18 who are present in the car.

Food can be obtained at the high school bus drop-off, at the intermediate center bus drop-off in front of the building and at the primary center at the student drop-off in front of the building.

The meals will be distributed from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Lunches include sandwiches, fresh vegetables, fruit and milk. Breakfast include cereal and other assorted breakfast items, along with fruit, juice and milk.

Emergency declaration

Pittston City announced public access to city hall, Pittston Memorial Library, the street department and the fire department is restricted due to an emergency declaration issued by Mayor Michael Lombardo on March 16.

Pittston City government will continue to operate. City hall can be reached at 570-654-0513 and the street department can be reached at 570-654-1160. Payments and correspondences can be mailed to city hall, 35 Broad St., Pittston, PA 18640. For emergencies, call 911. Visit www.pittstoncity.org for updates.

Arts council purse bingo

Pittston Arts Council’s designer purse bingo has been moved to Sunday, April 26, at St. Joseph Marello Parish hall. Doors open at 1 p.m. and play starts at 2.

LCCC closed

Luzerne County Community College Pittston Center is closed until further notice. Remote and online instructions for students started March 19 and will continue as scheduled. Support services will be delivered remotely, as available.

Pittston Library notices

Pittston Memorial Library is closed through Sunday, March 29. The library is asking patrons to please keep all library materials at home and return them when the library reopens. There will be no fines issued.

The library card issued by the library will provide access to educational resources on the library’s website. The library’s Facebook page also has resources available. The Facebook page will continue to be updated throughout the closure.

YMCA closed

Greater Pittston YMCA, including its daycare, will be closed through Sunday, March 29. Look for updates on the Facebook page.

Easter egg hunt

The Easter egg hunt, sponsored by the City of Pittston Police Department and Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance, is not being scheduled at this time. If conditions improve, organizers hope to hold it in the future.

Downtown business closures

Sapphire Salon and Spa is closed.

The Salt Barre is closed but will continue online classes. Cancelled workshops will be rescheduled as necessary.

Maxwell’s House is temporarily suspending pet daycare and grooming services. They will continue to honor current and pre-existing boarding reservations as long as they are open. They’re asking that customers provide only essential pet food and medicines and leave all blankets and toys at home. Curbside pickup will be available.

The Music Scene is closed. Please email and message them if there is an issue or to arrange an appointment to pick up a repair. They will update their Facebook page during the closure.

Petals Floral will be offering drop and go delivery services. They will call or text the recipient to let them know their delivery is there. The walk-in shop is closed but hours for delivery are between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Albert’s Pharmacy is offering drive thru and curbside pickup of prescriptions, if needed.

Pittston City has listed the following information on its Facebook page:

China III, The Gramercy and The Knights of Columbus are temporarily closed.

Arcaro’s The Next Generation, 47 N Main St. will continue to be open, offering delivery and curbside pickup. Call 570-655-1000.

Callahan’s Café and Coffee House, 60 S. Main St., will be open for takeout and curbside pickup between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Specials will be posted online. For curbside pickup, park your car and call 570-299-5892 to let them know you’re there. Please have exact payment amount.

DeMuro’s is open for pickup and delivery.

Fuji is open for takeout and delivery.

Lizza’s Mezzo Mezzo is open for curbside drop and go and delivery.

The Majestic is takeout only.

Napoli’s Pizza is open for pickup and delivery.

Rikasa on Main will offer curbside service.

Vince’s Pizza Express is open for takeouts and delivery.

Vito’s Bistro has curbside pickup and is offering delivery from 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to close.

Tomato Bar and Bistro is offering pickup and delivery. Six packs also are available to go.

The Red Mill is open Friday and Saturday for takeouts.
