Students at Martin F. Quinn Primary Center in the Pittston Area School District celebrated World School Milk Day on Sept. 25. All students received milk during their designated snack time. The complimentary milk was made possible through a NFL Play 60 Fuel Up Grant that the Primary Center received. The National Dairy Council and National Football League sponsor this grant to improve eating habits and increase physical activity in children. The children were taught that milk is a powerhouse beverage and a great source of fuel for the body. Milk provides the power of protein to build muscles, calcium and Vitamin D for strong bones and teeth, and potassium to keep the heart healthy.
