Oblates will celebrate Feast of the Holy Spouses

As the Universal Church celebrates this Year of St. Joseph, the Congregation of the Oblates of St. Joseph will host its annual celebration honoring the Holy Spouses, Mary and Joseph. A special Mass is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, in the Chapel of St. Joseph, 1880 Highway 315, Laflin. Guest celebrant and homilist will be the Rev. Eric Bergman, husband and father of 10 children, who is currently serving as pastor of St. Thomas More Parish, Scranton.

Bergman was a former Anglican clergyman and ordained to the Catholic priesthood under the Pastoral Provision of Pope John Paul II on April 21, 2007. He became the first priest incardinated in the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter in May 2012.

Fr. Paul McDonnell, OSJ, rector of the Oblates of St. Joseph, invites the public to this celebration. COVID restrictions mandated by the diocese will be in place. For information, call 570-654-7542.
