Pittston Arts Council met recently to plan the first iron pour in Pittston. Keystone Iron Works and the Pittston Arts Council are organizing an iron tile and performance pour in of Pittston. The event will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Pittston Memorial Library. The public is invited to make a small cast iron tile the day of the event and also at the Pittston City Second Friday Art Walk on Oct. 11.

Local and national artists, along with students from Marywood University and the University of Scranton, will be casting sculptures and will be available to answer questions about the process of iron casting. The iron pour also includes a short iron performance at the end of the pour.
