It is the time of year for residents to purchase the 2019 Jenkins Twp. stickers for refuse and recycling services through County Waste. The Jenkins Twp. Board of Supervisors was able to keep the pricing the same as 2018.
The sticker prices are based on the size of the bin the resident owns, a small bin, 35 gallons, is $120; medium bin, 65 gallons, is $240, and a large bin, 95 gallons, is $280. Bulk stickers are also available for sale. Residents must purchase a full sheet of six stickers for $30.
Residents no longer have to schedule a pick-up with County Waste for bulk items. Just place items out on Monday evening or by approximately 6 a.m. on Tuesdays for bulk sticker items to be picked up. The following items are not accepted: tires, building materials, automobile parts and electronics.
All transactions must be complete by January 31, 2019 or residents will face penalty fees.
There is a $40 discount for property owners 65 and older as of Dec. 31, 2018 or anyone who can provide proof of a disability.
Jenkins Twp. now accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards. If you choose to pay with a credit card, a consumer fee of 3 percent will be applied for each transaction.
Effective Dec. 3, a new payment plan will be offered, and will only be accepted for payments made in full until Jan. 31, 2019. If any resident chooses to make payments, final payment will not be accepted after the Jan. 31, 2019 deadline.
Any resident failing to pay in full by the deadline will face a $10 late fee, effective Feb. 1, 2019. A delinquent notice will be sent out to the resident and if payment is not made in full by May 1, 2019, another $10 late fee will be added and anyone who hasn’t paid their 2019 fee at that time will be sent a final notice and may face legal action. June 1, 2019, all unpaid charges or balances will be sent to the Jenkins Twp. Police Department for enforcement and issuance of a citation and/or filing of a municipal lien for noncompliance of the Refuse and Recycling Ordinance.
Anyone who wishes to upgrade their service to the next size may do so by bringing proof of the current sticker for the bin size and a copy of the paid invoice to the Jenkins Twp. Municipal Office, 46 ½ Main St., Inkerman.
