Joan Dowd celebrated her 40 years of teaching with a Mass with students, family and friends. First row, from left, are Julie Dowd, Kevin Dowd, Michael Dowd, Joan Dowd, Ann Baker and Brian Dowd. Students, faculty, family and friends recently celebrated Joan Dowd’s 40th year of teaching in the Diocese of Scranton. Dowd began her teaching career at St. Mary’s Assumption School in Pittston and currently teaches second grade at Holy Rosary School. Dowd was honored at the back to school liturgy.
