Greater Pittston YMCA hosted its fourth annual a Jack-O-Lantern Jog 5K and Fun Run on Oct. 26 on the County Rail Trail starting in Pittston. Participants were encouraged to dress up in Halloween outfits, with some taking home costume prizes. All children taking part in the fun run received a goodie bag, ribbon and $5 in tickets for the Y’s Scarecrow Carnival that took place in the gym that day. The carnival coincided with the Pittston Memorial Library Scarecrow Festival. More than 60 individuals and a dozen more families attended the race and carnival at the YMCA. Winners of the costume contest were: Scariest costume, Sarah Donahue as a burglar; best family costume, Amanda, Matt, Caroline and Joseph Carmody as zoo keepers and animals; most creative costume, Anthony Severns and Logan Taylor as Men in Black, and funniest costume, Ron Faust as a squid. Top male finisher in the race was Daniel Danilovitz, with a time of 17:28:00. Top female was Kris Danilovitz, with a time of 20:59:00. In the 14 and younger category, Preston Klem was first male finisher with a time of 18:56:00 and Molly Fetchko was the first girl to cross the finish line at 22:19:00. At top, YMCA Executive Director Janelle Drach starts the kids’ fun run. Above, the
