Greater Pittston Friendly Sons of St. Patrick will hold its annual Past Presidents Dinner on Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Knights of Columbus on Main Street in Pittston. The night will begin with the annual election of new officers at 6 p.m., a cocktail hour from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a buffet dinner catered by Peculiar Culinary and award winning chef Gene Philbin to follow. McMahon’s accomplishments as president last year included the awarding of scholarships to deserving students from the Greater Pittston Area and Wyoming Area school districts, planning a great Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Party at the Red Mill, another highly successful year of the Black Shamrock Golf Tournament, a fun-filled Christmas gathering, and the culminating event of his presidency, the 103rd annual St. Patrick’s Day Banquet with former NFL and Penn State Quarterback Matt McGloin as principal speaker. Chairman of the dinner is Past President Paul Leonard.
