Falls Active Adult Center, Exeter Twp., announced its activities and events for January.

Daily and weekly activities

Daily activities include cards, games and puzzles.

Craft Club meets Mondays from 10 a.m. to noon.

Men’s Coffee Club meets Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon.

Shuffleboard is offered Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Monday, Jan 2: Center closed for New Year’s.

Monday, Jan 9: Book Club meets at 10:30 a.m. to discuss “Night Road” by Kristin Hannah

Thursday, Jan. 12: Winter party at 10:30 a.m.

Monday, Jan. 16: Center closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Tuesday, Jan. 17: Lunch & Learn at 12:15 p.m. Registered dietician Mary McHale will discuss managing sodium in your diet.

Thursday, Jan. 19: Lunch & Learn at 12:15 p.m. Mary Reeves, LSW, from the Gardens at Tunkhannock, will discuss programs available for seniors who reside in Wyoming County.

Friday, Jan. 20: Music concert by fiddler Dennis Thorne from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.

Friday, Jan. 20: Birthday celebration at lunch.

Monday, Jan. 23: Lunch & Learn at 12:15 p.m. Lois Elick, RN, BSN, with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, will discuss thyroid conditions.

Monday, Jan. 30: Lunch & Learn at 12:15 p.m. Ida Ferguson will discuss disaster preparedness.

Anyone wishing to visit for a meal at noon for a suggested donation of $2 for those 60 and over should RSVP to Twila at 570-388-2623 by 12:30 p.m. the day before.

The center, located on state Route 92 in Falls, is open from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The center asks anyone who isn’t feeling well to not attend.

Book Club selections

Future Book Club selections are: Feb. 6, “True Sisters” by Sandra Dallas; March 6, “Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker” by Jennifer Chiaverini; April 3, “The Messy Lives of Book People” by Phaedra Patrick; May 1, “Love, Lucy” by Lucille Ball.
