Wyoming Area Senior Parents Association will hold a St. Patrick’s bingo fundraiser Sunday, March 11, at the Wyoming Area Secondary Center cafeteria. Doors open at noon and games will be played from 1 to 5 p.m.
Prizes include Michael Kors, Coach, Kate Spade and Vera Bradley bags, a smart television, trips, portrait package, cookware, theater tickets, cash and many other prizes.
Food will be available for purchase and basket and door raffles will be held.
Admission is $20, which includes 20 games of bingo. Special bingo games also will be played throughout the day at an additional cost. All proceeds benefit the Class of 2018’s all-night party.
Wyoming Free Library is hosting Masterpiece Adult Coloring Get-Togethers. Downton Abbey adult coloring will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14, and Poldark will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 19. The cost is $10 per session, which will cover the adult coloring book and supplies. The money is due when registering. Light refreshments will be served. Please call the library to register.
The library is having a fill-a-bag book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 27, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 28. The cost is $5 per bag. The library is accepting donations for the sale.

The library is hosting a Krispy Kreme doughnut fundraiser. The cost is $8 per dozen of glazed doughnuts and $7 per half dozen of flavored doughnuts (chocolate iced, lemon filled, raspberry filled or cream filled). Money is due when the order is placed. The sale ends Monday, March 26. Pickup is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 29. Orders can be placed at the circulation desk.
A children’s produce market will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 17. The market is open to all Luzerne County families with children. Registration is required and ends at 10 a.m. Monday, March 12. Applications are at the library.

Easter basket collections
Wyoming Area Catholic Student Council will sponsor a collection for Friends of the Poor. The council will be assembling small Easter baskets to distribute to the children who receive help from Friends of the Poor.
In order to assemble these baskets, the council needs assistance with donations. Please contact the school for a list of items needed. All items must be sent into the school by Friday, March 16, in order for the baskets to be assembled and given to the Friends of the Poor in time for distribution to the children.
Wyoming/ West Wyoming parade news
The Wyoming/West Wyoming Memorial Day Parade committee is looking for organizations interested in participating in the annual Memorial Day Parade. In addition to organizations, the committee also is looking for antique cars and unique cars for the parade. The parade is a tradition on the west side and parade chairman Jerry Stofko would like to see the event grow even larger this year. Wyoming sanitation fee
Wyoming Borough Sanitation Department has mailed the 2018 annual trash fees.
The discount period ended Feb. 15. The fee is now $200 through May 15. Late payments made after May 15 will be $250, no exceptions.
Vacant properties are not exempt from the garbage fee. Rental property owners are reminded the property owner, not the tenant. is responsible for payment of trash fees.
Please mail checks or money orders to: Wyoming Borough Sanitation, 277 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, PA 18644. No cash payments will be accepted. For your convenience, Wyoming Borough now has a payment box located by the entrance of the building.
West Wyoming sanitation fee
West Wyoming Borough has mailed invoices for the 2018 sanitation fee. All residences in West Wyoming must purchase a sticker.
The cost remains the same as last year, $200. However, since the deadline has passed, the cost is $300 for the year. Citations will be filed with the district magistrate for noncompliance with the ordinance.
Payment for the sanitation bill can be sent to West Wyoming Borough Building, 464 W. Eighth St., West Wyoming, PA 18644. For the added convenience of residents, credit cards are accepted.
Exeter sanitation fee
Exeter Borough announced refuse stickers went on sale in December at the borough building.
Price of the sticker is $180. Seniors 65 and older will pay $130. Stickers must be purchased by March 31 to avoid a penalty.
Stickers can be purchased at the Exeter Borough Town Hall, 1101 Wyoming Ave., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
You also can send for a sticker by mail by sending a check or money order to Exeter Borough Refuse, 1101 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, PA 18643.

Exeter now has single stream recycling. Recycling will still be collected Mondays. All recyclables can now be placed in the same container and placed out weekly.
A flyer is in the white mailbox in front of the borough building with a list of what can and cannot be put out. Everything on the calendar is still recyclable, with the exception of shredded paper. Also, items are on the list that weren’t picked up before.
Place recyclables curbside the night before collection or by 6 a.m. the morning of.
