Exeter Events will host its Howl at the Moon Fall Festival from 3 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the St. Cecilia’s Church grounds on Wyoming Avenue, Exeter, to celebrate the beautiful fall season and Exeter itself.

The second annual Howl at the Moon Fall Festival will provide the best food and drinks in town, live performances, plus face painting, activities and a bounce house for the young ones, and lots of jewelry, handcrafted candles, craft dips and home goods for the adults.

Everyone’s invited to this free event to celebrate the Exeter community.

“Come yourself, have a good time. Walk around. We have a beer truck, food trucks, we have music playing, we have a bounce house for kids to go in,” said Jane Balent, committee member for Exeter Events. “It’s promised to be a good time. Get to know the people, get to know your neighbors.”

Live entertainment includes: Broadway on the Boulevard, Dawn & Mike Duo, Robb Brown, Rockology Academy and The Bus 5 Band. Food trucks include: Cibo Pizza by Dominico, Giddy Up & Go Snack Shack, PananaMan, Susquehanna Brewing Company and Tarnowski Bros. Kielbasa.

Exeter Events Committee was created in February 2018 to give back to the community. The committee’s goal is to established a way for the area to come together and for residents to celebrate their hometown.

“Our hope is to raise the spirits of citizens of Exeter and to help the community to feel proud of where they live,” said Noelle Balent, social media and marketing representative for Exeter Events.

Since its formation, Exeter Events has hosted block parties in the summers of 2018 and 2019, last year’s Howl at the Moon event and a veterans celebration in May of this year.

Currently, Exeter Events is winding down its activities for the year. But according to committee member Jane Balent, a few new ideas are being tossed around.

She said Exeter Events plans to dedicate a plaque in the Lehigh Street Park in memory of former council members Daniel DeRoberto and Betty Ann DeRoberto.

Next year, Exeter Events plans to expand its Hometown Heroes Banner Project. The group began taking orders for the banners in May and now has more than 100 banners hung throughout the town, honoring veterans and active members of the military. More banners will be added in 2020.

In addition to the veterans banners hung along Wyoming Avenue, Jane Balent said Exeter Events hopes to offer smaller signs that veterans can place in their yards, indicating their service to the country. Details on that project, which the group hopes to offer in 2020, are still being worked out. They also plan to do something to recognize first responders.

“Since our team has been given such positive feedback on previous events, we are looking to introduce more in upcoming years,” promised Noelle Balent.

If you wish to support Exeter Events and its efforts in the community, the group will be selling shirts at Howl at the Moon. The white short sleeve T-shirts are $15 with the map of Exeter on the back. All profits go back to bettering the community.

“The profits will go towards our next event, another block party in June,” Jane Balent said.

Members of the Exeter Events Committee include: Lindo Sabatini, president; Frank Pizano, vice president; Lori DeAngelo, Lori Spencer, Toni Valenti, Dave Balent, Jane Balent, Noelle Balent, Lynda Hyzenski, Mayor Denise Adams, Lucille Loyack, Michelle Galli, Brittany Gali, Leonard Galli, Rhonda Pizano, Joseph Pizano, John Morgan, Renee Pizano and Samantha Vacula.
