For weeks, I have been enjoying reading Nativity of Our Lord Parish’s Facebook page posts regarding their upcoming parish picnic. Whether the posts provided the entertainment listings or photos of the parishioners preparing pierogis for the three-day gathering, I have to say they made me look forward to attending even more.

Be sure to join your neighbors and friends as Nativity of Our Lord Parish hosts its annual picnic July 12 to 14 on the Sacred Heart picnic grounds, 529 Stephenson St.

Friday, July 12, the picnic will begin at 6 p.m., with entertainment by Flaxy Morgan from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 13, the picnic will start at 5 p.m., with entertainment by The Sperazza Band from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. And on Sunday, July 14, the picnic will begin at 5 p.m., with entertainment by John Stevens Polka Band from 6 to 10 p.m.

There also will be a cash raffle, bingo, baskets, kids’ games, games of chance, a variety of stands, homemade ethnic and picnic foods including potato pancakes, wings, hand-dipped ice cream and a bake sale, as well as expanded undercover seating at the festival grounds.

Leading up to the picnic, there will be a giant pre-picnic flea market from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 11, in Sacred Heart Upper Hall. Stop by and look for early bargains!
