Sacred Heart Parish Welcome Committee will conduct its second annual cookie walk for the Christmas holiday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, and from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Dec. 9. They will offer many different choices of homemade cookies, candies and fudge prepared and donated by fellow parishioners, from the standby favorites like chocolate chip and peanut butter, to the specialty cookies that you only get to enjoy around Christmas! Don’t forget about the candies and fudge! Buyers will pay by the pound for their selections. Price is $8 per pound.
The Welcome Committee is looking for volunteer bakers who are interested in helping them supply the goodies. They are asking for homemade, prepared goods. Please contact Heather Roche at 570-299-7702 or Tammy Satkowski at 570-457-3855 to register your type or types of cookies. Organizers are keeping a list to make sure they have a nice variety to offer.
Please be aware, this will not be a nut free environment. The Welcome Committee thanks everyone in advance for participating as a baker, buyer or both.
In other parish news, home bound parishioners are reminded they may have Holy Communion brought to them on the First Friday of each month by calling the parish office at 570-654-3713 and requesting this service. This spiritual care is offered by the Pastoral Outreach Apostolate to any parishioner who, because of illness or advanced age, cannot leave their homes to attend Mass.
