Shawnee Fort Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution was well represented at the 241st anniversary of the Battle of Wyoming on July 4. The chapter presented a wreath of white carnations, symbolizing remembrance, during the floral tribute. Darleen Tomayko and Regent Karen Komorek presented the wreath during the ceremony. Several members have ancestors whose names are included on the monument. Shawnee Fort Chapter is based in Plymouth but has members from throughout the Back Mountain and the Wyoming Valley, including in Greater Pittston. Chapter members are finalizing plans for their 10th anniversary later this year. Prospective members are invited and encouraged to attend meetings and events.
