Mondays are tough. We all work, sometimes we have meetings at night or friends to meet up with, and on top of everything, we need to try to figure out what we want to do for dinner that night. Well this Monday has the potential to be a little less hectic. Take the night off from cooking and let Scout Troop 352 provide the goods with a pasta dinner. You can’t beat a good pasta dinner and you could support a local Scout Troop in the process. It’s a win-win.
Scout Troop 352 will hold a drive-thru/take-out ziti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, at First United Methodist Church, 408 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston. Dinner is $10 and includes ziti with meat sauce, salad, Italian bread and desert. Enter on Montgomery Avenue behind the church and exit onto Wyoming Avenue, or walk into the church for takeouts.

Corpus Christi news
Corpus Christi Parish holds a bereavement program in the rectory at 7 p.m. Wednesdays through Oct. 27. This program is offered to help care for yourself and facilitate healing. Program leader John M. Samony Sr. is author of “The Morning After: Surviving the Loss of Someone You Love” and is a University of Wisconsin certified grief support specialist. To register, call 570-654-2753.
The parish is offering an opportunity to financially support the parish through MyEOffering, which allows parishioners to make their church offerings online. First U.M. Church news
First United Methodist Church announces the following events are on its calendar for the week: Wednesday, Oct. 13, choir at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 16, food pantry is open 9 a.m. to noon; Sunday, Oct. 17, worship at 10:30 a.m.
Valley Alliance Church
Valley Alliance Church conducts Sunday morning worship from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Junior church occurs concurrently with the Sunday service. Nursery is available.
Prayer and Bible study are offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays. This mid-week service is intended to help build and strengthen families.
West Pittston Library will offer the following activities:
Intro to Reiki with Jane — 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14. Learn about Reiki, a simple yet powerful hands-on Japanese practice for relaxation and stress reduction that may also promote healing.
Paperclip Jewelry — 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20. Make wearable jewelry from paperclips and tape. Register for a take home kit full of all the supplies needed.
