The library is looking for circulation assistants for part time and evening and weekend hours. There is a job description posted on the library’s Facebook page.

Shop with a Cop

The City of Pittston, Police Chief Neil Murphy and officers from surrounding police departments are getting ready to host a Shop with a Cop event during the La Festa Natale holiday market on Saturday, Dec. 4, in conjunction with the Pittston Memorial Library and the Downtown Pittston Partnership.

The City of Pittston is hosting the event to assist families in the Pittston Area School District who have fallen on hard times. Sponsoring a child for $125 allows one child to purchase gifts for family and loved ones.

The city hopes to help at least 125 children this holiday season.

The children will shop at La Festa Natale, see Santa and receive a special gift, have lunch, make s’mores and enjoy hot chocolate, all while building a lasting positive relationship with law enforcement.

To sponsor a child, send your donation to: Downtown Pittston Partnership at 71 S. Main St., Pittston, PA 18640.
