It’s almost time for the NEPA Rockers to roll into town again!

NEPA Rockers motorcycle club will host its 12th annual Roll Bike Ride on Saturday, July 24, at Litzy’s Lounge, 614 Foote Ave., to benefit Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, Clarks Summit.

Ride registration, which is $15, begins at noon. At 1 p.m., the Rockers will cruise to Eckley Miners’ Village, Weatherly, and return to Litzy’s. Following the ride, there will be a bike show/contest and slow rides at 5 p.m., followed by live music by Some SKA Band and The Manipulators at 6 p.m. The B3Q Smokehouse food truck will be at the event.

K-9 benefit

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport will host “Wheel Life Experiences” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, July 10, at the airport, 100 Terminal Rd.

This family-friendly event will offer children an opportunity to explore all types of vehicles, including air transportation, construction, public service, emergency, utility, landscaping, delivery and many more. The kids also will have a chance to see and talk to the men and women who serve and protect our community.

All net proceeds will benefit the Pittston Twp. Police Department K-9 Unit.

Queen of the Apostles

Last call for Queen of the Apostles Parish’s Christmas in July Pot of Gold raffle tickets. Tickets are $10. The winning number will be based on the evening Pick 3 Daily Number beginning July 1. Food pantry

Avoca Food Pantry will be open at 4 p.m. Thursdays, July 1 and 15, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 532 Main St. The food, provided by the CEO Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank, can be picked up in the rear entrance of the building.

If you can volunteer to unload and distribute food, please arrive at 1:30 p.m.

Knights of Columbus

Knights of Columbus Cardinal John J. O’Connor Council 12967, Avoca, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 26, in the parish hall, 742 Spring St. The meeting will begin by praying the rosary.

Any Catholic man, 18 or older, is welcome to join the Knights. Meetings take place at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month in Queen of the Apostles Parish Hall, 742 Spring St. The council’s goal is to be an asset to the pastor, parish and community by lending assistance wherever needed.

Langcliffe camp scholarships

Langcliffe Presbyterian Church is offering scholarships for a paid week at Camp Lackawanna this summer. The camp, which is located in Tunkhannock, offers children a place to develop skills, build their self-esteem, establish friendships and grow as community-minded individuals. Yard waste collection

Yard waste will be collected every Tuesday. Items should be placed curbside by 7 a.m. to ensure pick up.

The following items will be collected: grass clippings and leaves, shrubs, hedge clippings and tree limbs not exceeding 3 feet in length and a half-inch in diameter.

The following is not accepted: rocks, stones, dirt and/or animal waste. A maximum of three open, standard-sized garbage cans not exceeding 30 pounds will be allowed per collection.

Please do not use 55-gallon drums, large-wheeled garbage cans, large, plastic storage totes or plastic bags. It will be refused.
