plans trip to NYC
The San Cataldo Society of Pittston is sponsoring its annual bus trip to the San Gennaro Festival in Little Italy, New York City, on Saturday, Sept. 22. Seats cost $40. Seton, Class of ’98,
plans 20th reunion
Seton Catholic High School, Class of 1998, will celebrate its 20th reunion Saturday, July 28. The event will be held at Ransom Lions Club Pavilion, 3150 Main St., Ransom, from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Adult beverages, soft drinks and an assortment of food from local restaurants will be served. All classmates, spouses and faculty are invited.

Duryea High School, Class of 1957, will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Colarusso’s, Avoca. Several options for a summer get-together will be discussed. All classmates are invited.
Pittston H.S., Class of 1960, plans reunion
Pittston High School, Class of 1960, will hold a reunion from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Jenkins Fire Company.
St. Joseph Seniors
St. Joseph’s Senior Social Club will have its annual picnic at the Checkerboard Inn in Trucksville on Thursday, July 19. Cost is $12 for paid members.
Thursday, Aug. 16, the club is going to Sands Casino. Cost is $19 and includes $20 slot play and $5 for food. Pickup is at Planet Fitness in Pittston.
U.M. Church of Pittston
sets theater trips
United Methodist Church of Pittston will sponsor a bus trip Saturday, Sept. 29, to American Music Theater, Lancaster, for the Fall Doo Wop Cavalcade. Price is $118, all inclusive. Bus will leave the Pittston Plaza at 10 a.m. for the 2 p.m. show. Also, Wednesday, July 25, Hunterdon Dinner Theater, New Jersey, “Nunsense,” $100, all inclusive, and Saturday, Nov. 3, American Music Theater, Lancaster, “The First Noel.” For reservations, call Cathy at 570-603-1915. Trips will fill fast.
Pittston trash bills due
Pittston City trash payment was due May 25. The new orange and white stickers must be used as of June 4.
Cost is $120 for 60 stickers. After the initial $120 fee is paid, residents may purchase extra stickers at a minimum of 12 for $24. Additional packs of 60 stickers are available for $120. A $20 late fee will be added after July 16. Bring or mail the bill when making payment. If mailing payment, include $5 for postage and handling, and make payable to Pittston City and mail to Tax Office, 35 Broad St., Pittston, PA 18640. Specify if the stickers are to be sent to an address other than the mailing address.
Pittston residents who do not receive a trash bill are responsible to notify the treasurer’s office at 570-654-1090. Landlords are reminded bills are sent to the homeowner. If a tenant is responsible for payment, landlords must give the bill to the tenant so they can bring or mail the bill when payment is made.

Planning meeting will be held after service July 22.
Shipped Wrecked, the church’s Vacation Bible School, will be held July 9-13.

Pittston Library has begun its summer hours. They are noon to 7 p.m. Monday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and closed Wednesday and Sunday. Summer hours are in effect until after Labor Day.
