Pittston roads closed
Oct. 7 for Pink run
Paint Pittston Pink’s annual Color Me Pink 5K Run will be held in downtown Pittston on Saturday, Oct. 7. Roads will be closed to all vehicle traffic in the area of this event from 10 a.m. until the completion of the race.
Pittston City Police Department advises motorists who plan on traveling through the downtown area at this time to make alternate arrangements.
Pittston Farmers Market
offers free books
Friends of the Pittston Library will be at the Pittston Farmers Market on Tuesday, Oct. 3, selling chances for the holiday basket. Free books also will be given away at the market.
A large variety of fruits and vegetables is available at the market, as are homemade soaps, table scarves, quilts, chili, wine, popcorn, fudge, breads, scones, cookies, cider and donuts, all made locally.
Pittston Farmers Market is held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Tuesday until Thanksgiving on the Tomato Festival Lot, South Main Street.

Library plan book sale
Friends of the Pittston Library’s book sale continues from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30. A variety of books will be available, including adult fiction and non-fiction, cookbooks, self help books and books for children and teens. Audio books and CDs also will be available.
