GREATER PITTSTON PROGRESS FILE The Avoca Farmers Market is held every Wednesday in the parking area of 824 McAlpine St.

Christmas will be a bit brighter for Dupont residents and people traveling through town thanks to the efforts of Adam Lazar.

On July 27, Lazar and his fellow Scouts from Avoca Troop 316 and Duryea Troop 285 joined together to refurbish Christmas lights for the Dupont Lions Club as part of Lazar’s Eagle Scout project. The project included replacing old lights, cleaning the fixtures and retaping areas in need of repair. Nice job, kids!
