Afton Elizabeth Fonzo and Joseph Thomas Bandru were united in marriage on Oct. 30, 2020, at Our Lady of the Eucharist Church in Pittston by the Rev. Jeffery Walsh.
The bride is the daughter of Vincent and Kathryn Bartush Fonzo of West Pittston. Grandparents are the late Anthony Sr. and Leola Bartush and Charles and Jennie Fonzo.
The groom is the son of John and Audrey Battle Bandru of Avoca. Grandparents are the late Thomas and Lucille Battle and Joseph and Dorothy Bandru.
In honor of her late sister, Allyse Fonzo, the bride carried a bouquet that included a yellow rose.
Maid of honor was Ashley Fonzo, sister of the bride. Matron of honor was Amanda Frace, sister of the bride. Bridal attendants were Ava Cozza, niece of the bride; Marie Topa, Jamie Fleming, Angela Sperrazza and John Byrd, friends of the bride. Flower girl was Paisley Frace, niece of the bride.
Best man was Jason Bandru, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Brandon Frace, brother-in-law of the bride; Ryan Janesko, cousin of the bride; Coen Miller, cousin of the groom; Josh Zurek, Mark Healey and Patrick Lello, friends of the groom. Ring bearer was Luca Cozza, nephew of the bride.
Liturgical readings were presented by Pauline Reedy, Lorraine Bartush, aunts of the bride, and Arlene Herron, godmother of the groom.
An intimate reception was held with close family and friends at the home of the groom’s parents.
The couple honeymooned in Salem, Mass. They reside in Taylor with their daughter, who was born in December.
